The Trip

It's after 3 am, I'm at my cousin's home, and I'm trying to type as accurately as I canon my laptop, so I'm not sure how far I'll get into the story of my trip. It may turn into a multi-part fic.
The story starts two weeks ago on a Tuesday night, shortly after the van was packed. Everything had its place and there was enough room for everyone, including a place to lay down in the back. Mom went to bed while the kids attempted to stay up until we left. I wanted to get at least a few hours sleep, but didn't get any. At about 2:15 we got a phone call. A call that late was never good news. My cousin was having problems breathing and said he felt like he was having a heart attack. His wife and brother-in-law drove him up to the hospital. We waited around for over an hour before calling the hospital to see how he was doing. He was fine, but we didn't feel like we should leave before seeing for ourselves, so we drove up there, in the opposite direction we were supposed to be heading. He was fine and about to be released, and we were finally on our way an hour later than we intended.
The trip was fairly uneventful and we arrived at my grandparent's house 6 PM Thursday evening. That's when we first heard about the London attacks.
And I'm afraid I have to leave off here; I'm about to fall asleep. I'll try to get the rest out tomorrow evening. And, yes, it's not all boring. :-P
